Flywheel Ventures Names Three Fellows for 2010
June 16, 2010, (Albuquerque, NM) - Flywheel Ventures welcomes three Flywheel Fellows for the 2010 Summer Fellows Program. Flywheel selects a small number of elite MBA students from the world’s premier universities to participate in the annual Flywheel Fellows Program. This year Flywheel welcomes Wen (Gordon) Wang from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, Yossi Levi from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and Eric Reinhardt from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
“At Flywheel, we recognize that the best way to experience the VC business is through an apprenticeship. The Flywheel Fellows program is designed to give students that first-hand experience - walking in the shoes of a VC,” said Flywheel Ventures General Partner Scott Caruso. “It’s an unique opportunity to genuinely experience the various aspects of this industry, from pitch sessions to board meetings.”
Working in both a Flywheel investment analysis and a portfolio company operations capacity, students gain an appreciation of and experience the partnership building, strategy and tactical execution required to build venture-backed technology start-ups. Students work directly with Flywheel General Partners and their responsibilities includes opportunity analysis, investment due diligence, market ecosystem mapping and portfolio governance. Additionally, students can be dedicated operationally to one or more of Flywheel’s portfolio companies in areas such as strategy, finance, sales and marketing, product management, and business development.
